Thought to live by? I don't mind what happens - as long as Now happens; never put off living. I am living my 'Now' with enthusiasm, joy and peace. (Beverley Jean Wium - January 2008)
Healthy Happenings 'Mainly Men' I have discovered there are many single, divorced and married men who don't know the first thing about preparing food for themselves - let alone healthy food. This is an invitation for the guys who want to take charge of their nutrition needs without relying on their ladies, Woolies or Mr. Delivery. Perhaps you are looking to impress your date? Why not serve her a healthy, delicious lunch or supper and you will decidedly score extra points. Your kids bodies and minds will also thrive on healthier options. I will include some raw options for the nights of darkness - thanks to Eskom. Mainly Men - cooking mostly in the raw - for beginners (Ladies also welcome) Wednesday 20 February 2008 7.00 for 7.15 pm R100 per person Crowthorne, Midrand Contact: Beverley Jean Wium Nutrition & Lifestyle Coach 082 888 7875

Health info Change your mind change your suit After completing my firewalk (my 'crazy' walk on coals) I got thinking a lethal thing for a blond to do, I know! But now that I no longer have mercury in my teeth, my mind is a lot sharper - so here goes. The mind is an amazing tool. If the mind is capable of telling the feet not to burn on red hot coals, imagine what else it can do? As I said in my last newsletter, our minds will affect our states (emotions) which will affect our physiology and vice versa. We need to be aware of what we eat, what we feel and what we think. We can choose what we eat, think or feel. It takes will power. Will power can be practiced. Try it.
A lot of people when asked where they would like to live, would say 'in nature'. Think about it: you are living in Nature every moment you are alive. The closest manifestation of Nature is your own body. Your body is your form, the vehicle that houses your Being, your essence. Enjoy being in Nature. Appreciate this bit of Nature with which God has blessed and entrusted to you.
I see my body, 'my' bit of nature, as a space suit. Human BEings live in space suits of different sizes, colours, shapes; and different states of health. I can change the shape, size and health (even the colour) of my space suit depending what I feed it: be it thoughts, emotions or food. I seldom put sugar into my space suit; likewise I seldom put negative thoughts into my space suit - if a negative, hateful or wasteful thought appears in my space suit, as quickly as possible, I replace it with a positive thought or saying or I practice silence. More peaceful emotions are then born which help 'me' choose healthier lifestyle options e.g. eat a mango instead of a chocolate or go for a brisk walk with unbridled exhilaration. If I have an emotion within my space suit, like sadness, I let it be, I observe it, give it space without stories from where it has come. I say to myself, 'This will pass'. The sadness starts to feel lighter. I befriend the sadness, as I would happiness.
This is a time of year when you may be inspecting your space suit. Those thighs are looking rather lumpy - that hail damage - and you can't even claim from insurance! You are clearing out your clothes cupboard and you dream of fitting into your 'thin' clothes again; you need to let the belt out one notch - nobody else will notice. And you just don't have energy; you sleep too much and you are despondent or nervous depressed, stressed, irritable.
Wake up - smell the roses. Change your lifestyle and you will change your life. Fetch yourself a new space suit, any way you know how. If you have not yet read Mary-Ann Shearer's book The Natural Way, read it and help yourself change. At the moment she is running her 100 Days to Health Programme. Just let me know and I will email you the programme daily for the next 100 days - no charge. It is a beginner's programme for the absolutely unhealthy-not willing to change-novice-future-sexy space suits.
Alternatively, I am a Nutrition & Lifestyle coach (yes, I know you knew that!). I can coach you in person, in groups or via email over weeks or months to become who you want to be. I can be your New Year's evolution. To revolve is to come back to the same place - it is surely better to evolve - to develop, unfold and open out to a new YOU. Spend the same time and money on your body as you would on your car - you are SO worth it. To ignore the call to live your best life is an insult to your Creator.
Recipe Chilled Tomato and Avocado Soup (protein) (Serves two people) cup cashew nuts 2 spring onions 1/3 of red, yellow or green pepper tsp Mary-Ann's Herb salt 500ml CeresPlus Tomato, Carrot & Celery vegetable juice (or fresh juice) 1 avocado Chop cashew nuts finely in a food processor. Add onion, pepper & salt - blend. Gradually add Ceres juice, scraping the sides of the food processor regularly. Add avocado - blend until creamy. Place in fridge chill for about half an hour (not too long, as the avocado will start to discolour). Pour into soup bowls; garnish with a sprig of mint and serve. Eskom load shedding tip: Omit the avocado & prepare this soup the day before (if you have power of course!) and serve with a salad and some of those nice Rye crackers from Woolies topped with avocado and sliced tomato. Mmmmyummy!
Tabilu thymes: Thyme is an herb; so where does Tabilu come from? Tell me what this means and get a free nutritional consultation with me, plus a starter pack of Barley life and flaxseed oil! I do believe the time has come to give a bit of a clue. Tabilu is an acronym. Barbara Kuppers is the first person to go this route. Tabilu means Tell A Body I Love You - cute interpretation hey. Well done Barbara - not bad for a blond.
Have an Awakened 2008 - remember every moment IS the best! Beverley Jean
That's all folks!
